The food in this restaurant is delicious. About the baths the day I went were very clean, probably because it is a weekend.
If it's still the same, it's very busy at lunchtime and around 7:00 pm when customers come together and more on Fridays, but if it works
They don't do deliveries, I do believe you have to get a third-party service, like postmates, takeout central or a service offered from yelp
Super busy, food is average. Posole is authentic
I mourned the closing of Los Comales, but this place is just as good. Have only tried the asada & al pastor tacos, but they were extraordinarily good. Will return as soon as I can.
The food was absolutely delicious!!! Pupusa and veggie tacos were unreal
Great place with a LOT of options. Super friendly wait staff that is following COVID protocols, even sanitizing the menus between customers. I had the veggie enchilada and it was full of great veggies (carrots, broccoli, zucchini, yellow squash).
Ordered the Lengua, Cabeza, and Carnitas tacos. Affordable and good. It wasn't to busy on a Monday at noon.
The food was fresh, tasty, and fast! Staff was friendly. No ambience, but who cares when the food is this good.
Authentic cheap Mexican food. Great prices for breakfast options.
Really great Mexican food. My favorite is the veggie burrito (I'm a vegetarian).
Very good food
Food was pretty good got enchiladas and langua tocas or cow toung the cow tounge meat was really good and cooked really well the enchiladas were a little more soggy be then I would have liked but for 6 of them it is $11 and for the tacos $2.50 it didn't come with band and rice so I guess you have to buy it separately
Authentic Mexican Food
Thankfully, I read reviews prior to stopping by the restaurant. For someone only fluent in one language, I was definitely out of my element. The staff here are not limited to such, perfect English (don't worry if you need assistance they can communicate better than your chain tex-mex joints) house-made Horchata... On point!I will definitely be back.
Ok so if you are in a hurry to eat and pressed for time I do not recommend this place ... we had to wait about 15 min after we ordered food to be seated and then about 30 first food to come out but let me say it was worth the wait! If you want some authentic mexican food this place has it! It is a hidden gem I will definitely be back! First time here and very likely to come back! Muy buen lugar con muy buen sabor!
Everything was delicious, and they had an English menu which helped speed things up since we don't speak a lot of Spanish. They were busy so it took a while to get our food, but the lady who brought it was very nice.
Hasn't let me down yet and the flavors are always on point
Fantastic and authentic place! Tried the Fajitas Texanas.
Veggy nopales tacos and great service. Great place to go on your taco tour.
The food here is consistently delicious. It's very authentic and portions are generous. Staff is very friendly too. It can be crowded and since everything is made to order, a bit slow. Worth the wait though!
I got a vegetarian quesadilla with rice and beans and it was amazing. Only knock is the beans seemed a little salty to me personally (probably because I don't use salt often). Great service too
Really good authentic mexican food!
My husband loves this place. Food is good
Best tacos I have ever had. You also have to try the pupusas.
Classic Mexican restaurant food same flavors and tastes on all Mexican restaurants
Authentic food! Friendly staff. I visit so much I feel like family!
The BEST in Durham. Being residents in Az we missed our good Mexican food. This place is legit and never disappoints.
Delicious authentic Mexican food! This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. It reminds me a lot of my mothers cooking. However, be prepared to wait, the waiting can get quite long but some things are worth waiting for. 😋
This is TRULY an authentic Mexican restaurant with dishes from the state of Mexico. I am very picky about my Mexican food and this here left me talking numerous times about how delicious things were. Also with every dish each person gets their own homemade corn tortillas (5-6) so you have enough to eat with your food! You don't have to share!!It is extremely affordable and the quantity of food you get is enormous. I kid you not. Everything is freshly prepared and served hot! I will always come back here to eat. Note- a local told us that the wait times to be seated are loooong so a lot of people call in to order food and enjoy at home.
Authentic quality tacos. Very good jamaica. Excellent salsas.
Authentic, delicious Mexican food. The chorizo came highly recommended from my El Salvadoran friend, and she was right (it’s the best I’ve ever had). They have a huge complimentary self-service condiment bar of veggies and sauces that is great too.
As others have mentioned, service can be a little slow but the food is worth the wait. Excellent salsas and finishings available to customize your dishes. Chorizo was tasty, carnitas wasn't quite as good.*update: Still excellent food, still slow. Waited 25 minutes for four tacos today with only two orders in front of me.
Delicious mexican food. Not American mexican, but true mexican flavor. Highly recommend it.
Worth the wait. Extremely authentic and delicious food, don't let appearances deter a visit. The building may be a bit dilapidated but the staff is extremely friendly and it has a family owned feel. They have a bit of a slow pace so don't expect a super quick stop. Gets very busy around meal times.
Delicious mexican cuisine and well priced. Staff very friendly and helpful if you don't know Spanish.
Service can be slow but other than that, this is my favorite authentic Mexican take out. Tortillas are hand made, the Spanish rice is sublime, and the salsa bar is extensive. Highly recommend!!!
Have been here a few times and food was great every time! There's a condiment bar with salsa and other toppings so you can get as much as you want. The wait can get crazy long for dinner on Saturdays.
It's a hole in the wall place with excellent food
So. Good. That's really all I have!
Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had! I had the enchiladas rojas and they were absolutely magnificent. They were perfectly cheesy and oniony, and it was nice that there was a station where I could get things like jalapeno to add as well. I really loved how local and traditional the place felt, not many other English speakers there, haha, but it was still one of my most delicious and enjoyable meals during my stay in NC. Next time I'm in the area, this is absolutely somewhere I'm coming back to!
Best restaurant in Durham. I'm visiting from the west coast and this place has kept me fed. Incredible flavors, authentic food, spicy salsa (giant salsa bar), and friendly & timely service. I would 100% recommend. I'll be coming back until it's time for me to fly home.
The food was delicious at an affordable price.
Daaaaaaaaaaammmmmnnnn! Incredible food. Must try.
Menudo and tacos.. Small place.. Busy Sunday.. But the wait was worth it!!
The closest tasting tortilla you would find south of the border (mexico), in North Carolina. Tacos were my main objective: asada/beef (excellent), carnitas/pork (good), tripas/fried beef intestines (EXCELLENT, CRISPY), lengua/beef tongue (tender and sweet/Delicious...a must have). I was really impressed with the fresh toppings bar. The flavored water horchata (rice water) was not good at all, stay away from it, not worth it. Down side: Limited seating, Prices highcompared to other Mexican restaurants, orders came out at different times. Also, remember what you ordered and listen closely because they just call out food, if your not paying attention someone else could take your food!!!
Foun rat tail in food i, wonder how there kitchen looks cuz ther helth score is low inspector is letting us know how bad it is i will never ever stop by there in mi life you shouldn't ether ur life maters
We just finished polishing off our meals. Very good food at reasonable prices. I had the pozole soup and pastor tacos. My wife got the fajitas. Everything was excellent. Make a stop here if you're traveling south and ask for the English menu.
Loved this place...found so many things on the menu that I would love to go back and try..tried the quesadilla mixta and the huevos de chorizo...both were really good..also the rice that comes with is one of the best rice I have tasted in a Mexican restaurant..would strongly recommend this place..P.S: Ask for an English menu if you are not comfortable with the Spanish board menu.
I could eat here every day. In fact, I did for a week and still wasn't burned out on the food. I like their papusas, tacos, gorditas, menudo (although not as good as mine), etc. I haven't tried a lot on the menu because I'm happy with the things I normally order. The only thing I would steer you away from is the liver. I thought it might be different but it wasn't. Fried until hard and tough like the sole of my shoe. Otherwise, take a chance and try it.
Fantastic food! A must visit in the area as food is made fresh to order. Place should so a better job of cleaning bathrooms but plenty of light and friendly staff.
Excellent food. The pupusas were great, the Chile Rellano was good, came with great warmed tortillas.
Their tacos are so good! They are not skimpy with the meats. They are very nice and I will be back.
